Ministry of the Bishop

Level 5.1 - The Ministry of the Bishop

TARGET
By December 2020, the Bishop has made efforts to deepen his faith and allow the life and teachings of Jesus to touch his heart and give a loving and merciful dimension to all his relationships and leadership. Through his ministry of teaching, sanctifying and serving he has given time to strengthen the faith of the people. He has guided the people to live their faith by following the way of Jesus and becoming his true disciples.

Rationale (Reasons)

SITUATION

To live fully our faith as Christians is a daily challenge. There are so many forces in the culture and in the world today pulling us away from Jesus and weakening our faith. The ministry of teaching of the bishop is very important and as the shepherd of his people, he is called to strengthen their faith. The people are called to on-going study of their faith so that they will be stronger, have a clearer understanding of the demands of their faith for their everyday living and remain faithful to the promises of their baptism.

IDEAL

The bishop, through his leadership, teaching, pastoral ministry and visits to the parishes, helps the people to grow strong in their faith and live the graces of their baptism in their daily actions.
